The Russian tournament organizer Epic Esports Events has announced the return of their series Dota 2 Champions League – this year they plan to host at least five online events for European teams. The first one is scheduled for April 5th – 12th and will feature a $25,000 prize pool.

The organizers have also revealed the list of invited teams for the first event – Vikin.gg, Team Spirit, High Coast Esports and HellRaisers have been invited to the playoffs stage, while Brame, Team Unique, Nemiga, Fantastic Five, Team Empire, LevelUP, Trident, Ghost Frogs, Prosti Esli, KKD and Cascade will start from the group stage. The rest of the participants will be determined through the open qualifiers scheduled for April 4th – 5th.

D2CL used to take place regularly from 2014 to 2018; however the league has been in limbo since the beginning of 2019. Currently Epic Esports Event put most of their effort into the EPIC League – its last season was held in March, featuring two divisions with a total prize pool of $100,000.
