G2 Esports is the Champion of IEM Katowice 2023

The Grand Final of IEM Katowice 2023 took place on the evening of February 12th. G2 Esports overcame Heroic in the best-of-5 series.

G2 Esports won the first 2 maps of the final - 16:12 on Nuke and 16:13 on Mirage. After that, Heroic added some tension to the series with a win on Inferno (16:11). The teams went into an extended break between maps with a score of 2-1 in favor of G2 Esports.

The fourth map of the series was Ancient, where G2 Esports proved to be the stronger team, winning 16:7. Thus, the team became the champion of the IEM Katowice 2023.

For NiKo, this was the first victory in the finals of the IEM Katowice. Previously, the player reached the finals of the tournament series three times, but lost each time.

The club, on the other hand, won the best-of-5 finals for the first time since 2017. Back then, G2 won the ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals, after which they never won a best-of-5 final.

For winning the IEM Katowice 2023, the club not only earned $400,000, but also a direct invitation to the IEM Cologne 2023. The tournament will be held in Germany from July 25 to August 6.
