G2 Esports Triumphs Over ENCE to Clinch IEM Cologne 2023

The Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023 concluded on the evening of August 6th. In the grand finals of the tournament, G2 Esports squared off against ENCE.

Both finalists received an invitation to the group stage of the tournament, and both teams took the top spots in their respective groups — ENCE in Group A, G2 Esports in Group B. As a result, they started the playoffs from the semi-final stage, where ENCE beat Team Vitality (2:1), and G2 Esports triumphed over Astralis (2:0).

In the best-of-5 grand final, G2 Esports won the first two maps (16:4 — Nuke, 16:10 — Mirage) and earned a match point. ENCE came out on top on Anubis (16:13), but they could not resist on Ancient (9:16) and lost the grand final with a final score of 1:3.

With their victory in the tournament, G2 Esports not only pocketed $400,000, but also received an invitation to IEM Katowice 2024. NiKo was named as the tournament's MVP.
