Gambit and GODSENT Eliminated from IEM Winter

The playoffs stage of Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI – Winter has started this weekend with two quarterfinals. There GODSENT lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas (1-2), while Gambit were defeated by Team Vitality (1-2). Since the tournament follows a single-elimination format, both defeated teams have been knocked out of the event.

With four teams remaining in the competition, three of them are representing the European region, while only one is from the CIS region. Both semifinals will be played this Saturday, November 11th. First, G2 Esports will take on Ninjas in Pyjamas (3:00 PM UK time), and then Vitality will face Virtus.pro (6:15 PM). Both teams have not played with each other since PGL Stockholm Major.

Playoffs Bracket:

The grand finale is scheduled for December 12th, 3:00 PM. The series will follow a best-of-five format – the team to first win three maps will claim the championship and $100,000 in prize money.

IEM Winter 2021 is being played on a studio environment in Stockholm, Sweden. Besides the $250,000 of prize money, the teams are also competing for a handful of ESL Pro Tour points.
