OWL Summer Showdown Wacky Workshops Cancelled

The organizers of Overwatch League have announced that the Wacky Workshops stage of the upcoming Summer Showdown was cancelled due to “travel delays out of [their] control”. The rest of the event will be held as planned.

The Wacky Workshops was supposed to be a side event featuring pro players competing in Workshop game modes – the community voted for Rein Bot 1v1 and You Miss You Die. However, some teams experienced issues with getting to the tournament’s location, so the organizers decided to cancel it to give the players more time to prepare for their main matches.

The main part of Overwatch League 2021 – Summer Showdown begins this Friday, July 16. The first day will feature both semifinals – first, Chengdu Hunters will face Dallas Fuel (3:30 AM UK time), and then Atlanta Reign will compete with Shanghai Dragons (5:00 AM). The event will conclude on July 18th with its winner claiming $100,000 in prize money and 3 league points.
