Six Invitational 2021 to be Held in Paris without Live Audience

Ubisoft have announced that for the first time in the five-years history of the Six Invitational series, this year’s event will not be held in Montreal, Canada – instead, the tournament is scheduled to take part on February 9th – 21st in Paris, France.

The tournament organizers name the health and well-being of everyone involved as their top priority, hence they decided to opt out of having a live audience. The organizers are working with several health organizations and the French government to ensure a safe offline competition. The safety measures will include self-isolation, excessive testing, sanitization of competition areas and much more.

The event will start with a group stage, which will feature 20 teams competing in two round-robin groups with best-of-one series. The best eight teams from each group will advance to a double-elimination playoffs bracket, where all regular matches will be best-of-three, while the grand finals will be best-of-five with a 1-map advantage for the upper bracket team. The group stage is scheduled for February 9th – 14th, while the playoffs will be played from February 17th – 21st.

The seeding for the group stage currently remains unknown, however the list of participants looks as follows:

• Invited Teams: BDS, TSM, Giants, Cloud9, Liquid, DarkZero, NiP, Spacestation, oNe, Virtus.pro, Wildcard, Empire, FaZe, Oxygen, G2, MIBR
• Qualified Teams: Cyclops (Asia), Mkers (Europe), Altiora (North America), FURIA (Latin America)

Six Invitational 2021 will feature a base prize pool of $500,000, which will be increased up to $3M through the Battle Pass sales. The developers have also stated that the tournament broadcast will include news about the game’s future, promising a few surprises. Besides that, the viewers will be able to get Twitch Drops.
